It's The Great Pumpkin!

Well, maybe not exactly THE Great Pumpkin...but Charlie Brown and his crew were definitely at Pappy's Pumpkin Patch yesterday!

There's a place just outside of Tyler called the Bell Family Farm, and evidently they open their farm to the community every fall. There's a playground and hayrides and mini-train rides, and you can feed the fish in the pond...and, of course, you can search for the perfect pumpkin! At the beginning of the season, they brought in over 1,000 pumpkins. We went on the last day, so the pickins were slim!

Mini Me found a few that she thought were perfect. She's such a dainty, petite little thing, she had a little trouble lifting them from the ground. But that girl is determined...much like her Momma. SO finally, after much grunting and groaning, she was able to heave one for a photo op!

I was so proud!

The past several days have been just beautiful weather-wise, and yesterday was certainly no disappointment. We went a little late in the day, so the shadows were long...but I love this picture!

I think we've just started a new family tradition. Next year, we'll try to go earlier in the season, when the pumpkins are plentiful.
